Day Of Infamy Speech

"Yesterday Dec. 7, 1941 - A date which will live in infamy" Franklin D. Roosevelt. On December 7, 1941 Japan attacked Pearl Harbor killing 2,400 men and injuring more than 1,300. destroying 188 aircrafts sinking four battle ships, three cruisers and destroyers. Causing the US to enter into World War II.





"The Gadget" the first tested nuclear weapon

The Manhattan Project tested its first nuclear weapon called "The Gadget" on July 16, 1945 in New Mexico. Later on August 6, 1945 the US dropped the first atomic bomb "Little Boy" on a Japanese city Hiroshima. Killed about 60,000 the first day and in total about 140.000. Three days later On August 9, 1945 US dropped the the atomic bomb "Fat Man" on a Japanese city Nagasaki killing about 30,000 the first day and in total 60,000. On August 14, 1945 Japan agreed to Allies terms and surrendered.
